Three types Entry/Exit Direction of small cargo lift
The two post cargo lift, also called wall mounted lift, smallg goods lift, is widely used in warehouse, workshop, homes, restaurants, offices, hospitals, a compact vertical transportation system designed to move goods or materials between different floors of a building, it features small size, light capacity, which are more suitable for lifting goods with capacity 300kg to max 1000kg and height within 10m. This hydraulic cargo lift can be fixed into the pit to keep the platform the same level with ground. Or we can also offer one fixed ramp for convenient loading/unloading work if pit is not allowable. There are total three types of loading and unloading, Same-Side Entry/Exit, Through type Entry/Exit, and 90-Degree Entry/Exit. Below, we explore each type in detail, including their structural features, applications, and advantages.
1. C type cargo lift – All stops in a line
The worker can load and unload the goods from the same side of lift, see the photo below, there is only one platform door, the ground floor and up floor are same openings.

These two lift are beside the mezz, both are same side loading and unloading.

Structural Features:
The goods lift is positioned parallel to a single access point, with hydraulic systems enabling vertical movement. Normally the other side may have the wall around.
Safety features such as guardrails, anti-slip platform, and interlock ensure the stability during operation.
Compact footprints make this type suitable for narrow workshops or garages.
2. Z type cargo lift- 180 degree Through Entry/Exit
This design allows cargo or goods to enter from one side and exit from the opposite side. This is the most popular type and widley used. See the photo below, there is two platform door, the ground floor and up floor are opposite openings.
It is common in high-throughput environments like distribution centers.

Structural Features:
The lift platforms with dual access doors, often mounted on the wall, is more easier for loading and unloading goods, the worker can just pull or push the pallet truck directly.
3. L type cargo lift- 90-Degree Entry/Exit
This design allows cargo or goods to enter from one side and exit from the adjacent side. The lift also has two doors, see the photo below, there is two platform door, the ground floor and up floor are adjacent openings.

Structural Features:
The lift platforms has two platform doors, also comes with interlock, that means the lift won’t work if the doors are not closed. This lift suit for some small size spaces.
Rotating platforms or articulated arms enable directional changes mid-lift.
Here are the main safety Devices of Nostec small cargo lift
1.Emergency stop button
The lift can be stopped immediately in case of any emergency
2.Safety control voltage
All the button and operation parts use DC 24V safety voltage, keep users’ safety
3.Explosive-proof valve
when hydraulic hose breaks the lift will stop immediately.
4.Safety interlocking (Located on platform door)
The lift won’t work if the door is open, it can only rise when the door is completely closed.
5.Guardrail protection
It can prevent the goods out from the platform during the lift going up.
6.Electromagnet (Located on platform door)
Both the platform door and landing door cannot be open during the lift working.
7.Calling device
Calling box (Located at ground and up floor), remote control also available
Conclusion
The choice of entry/exit configuration depends on site or installation size and load characteristics. Same-side designs excel in compact environments, through-type systems dominate high-throughput logistics, and 90-degree configurations solve complex spatial challenges.
But no matter which type, we need also to confirm the lift height (the distance from floor to floor), load capacity(normally 300kg, 500kg or max 1000kg), and then the installation size. The Nostec team made the 3D drawing for you to make you understand better, sure you can provide your site photos, enginner can put the lift in the real scene.
